Amid their interview together, Cole explained how she and Tupac knew each other before he died. Cole says she was hanging out with Tupac in Las Vegas on the day he was shot and killed in a drive-by shooting.

According to Cole, Tupac wanted to sign her to Quincy Jones record label which he also wanted to do. Tupac wanted to leave Death Row Records because it was not “the place for kids,” Cole explained. Clearly, this piqued Fat Joe‘s interest and he had a lot more to say.

According to Cole, she was 16-years-old when Tupac was shot dead, and she remembers getting earrings in the mail from Death Row Records. At that time, Suge Knight was already in jail, and she says her mom came and got her from Knight’s house because “everybody got shot that night.”

According to Cole, her brother and 2Pac used to rap together in a group called The Outlawz. She says there was simply too much drama for her around that time, especially at such a vulnerable age.

Hip-hop fans know 2Pac was shot and killed on the 13th of September, 1996, around the same time as the death of another rap legend, The Notorious BIG. Tupac has since gone on to be one of the most influential artists of all time, especially in the rap world.

Tupac has been hailed as an activist for resistance against inequality. Keyshia Cole, on the other hand, has been a performing artist ever since she first met MC Hammer when she was 12-years-old.
